Are you curious to learn more about the meaning and symbolism behind these flowers? There is no better place to learn more about this than the 18th century historical House Beaucarne, with its direct link with the renowned Ename Abbey!
The workshop starts with a small walk in a part of the conserved gardens where Lena Vastesaeger tells you the story behind some of the plants which have resided in the garden since the 18th – 19th century and which were brought back from numerous exotic voyages.
Julien Fornari is part of the youngest generation descendants of the Beaucarne family and manages the house and the gardens together with his fiancé Lena Vastesaeger. When it comes to the garden, Lena manages with passion and care for the numerous old roses, taking cuttings and planting flowers and plants whom fit the story of House Beaucarne.
The flowers are used in the freshly picked bouquets which adorn the interiors of House Beaucarne each week.
After the garden-walk we are going to make a bouquet containing wildflowers and plants that refer to the symbolism that lies behind the beauty an splendour produced by the gardens of House Beaucarne.
You will go home afterwards with a beautiful spring bouquet and lots of inspiration and new insights.
